Materials and Methods

The research question for the project is: What type of water soaked into pinto beans will make the beans grow fastest?
Measuring tool:
We are going to use a small measuring tape to measure how tall the plants grow.
Planters:
We are going to use 3 1/2 inch planters to hold the plants.
Water:
The water we are going to soak the beans in true value distilled water, true value bottled water, and Bushnell tap water. We are also going to water the plants in tap water.
Soil:
The soil we are using is hyponex potting soil.
Beans :
We are using pinto beans for our project.
Preparing the plant:
First, soak 20 beans in the tap water, 20 beans in the distilled water, and 20 beans in the bottled water. Be sure to use as much water as you need to cover the pinto beans completely. Soak each of the pinto beans for 2 days. Second, fill each planter 3/4 of the way full with soil. Third, place 1 bean in each planter and cover with soil and place in the sun for the plants to grow.
Research and process:
Water the plants with 1/2 cup tap water every day except on weekends. Measure the plants every other day for 3 weeks. Then, record the data.
